2018/2019 BOWLING LEAGUE
Bowlers Wanted By Jan Crail Many people, especially new residents, may not know that we have our own large ball ten pin bowling league, which runs from November to March. It is open to both men and woman residents but is not a couples league. Single bowlers are very welcome. Also, husbands and wives are not placed on the same team. Everyone gets to play. We bowl every Wednesday afternoon at Bowland Lanes on Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Practice starts at 2:50 p.m. followed by games at 3:00 p.m. Three games are played. Teams consist of four players each based on previous averages. A captain for each team is elected by the members of that team. Scoring is based on a 100% handicap basis. The cost is $12.00 per person per week, and if absent the cost is $3.20. If you are not available every week, there is a list of substitutes. The rate for subs is $8.80. This year the BHP Bowling League will start on Wednesday November 7th. There will be a two week break for the holidays on December 19th and 26th. The final bowling date will be Wednesday March 20. A very nice thing about this activity is that it concludes with an off-site banquet at which monetary prized are awarded to teams based on their finished ranking. The dinner will be held again at Twin Isles Country Club in Punta Gorda on Wednesday evening March 27. The bowling league officers are President Rick Schram, Vice President Doug Howe, and Secretary/Treasurer Mark Belknap. We encourage you to participate in this very fun game. A sign up sheet is posted in the clubhouse or you may contact Rick Schram at schram4021@gmail.com, 941-505-0646.
Ballot Initiative – Tax Increase
PLEASE READ BELOW CAREFULLY. THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE HAS DONE A GOOD JOB OF DECEPTIVELY WRITING THIS BALLOT INITIATIVE. A NO VOTE WILL INCREASE YOUR TAXES….YOU MUST VOTE YES TO MAINTAIN THE CURRENT TAX STRUCTURE AND AVOID A POTENTIALLY HUGE TAX INCREASE
Important notice regarding possible tax assessment increases!!
Important notice regarding possible tax assessment increases!! Ballot Number 2 effects the assessment placed on our homes. As the present time, the rate cannot be above 10%. If this Constitutional Amendment is not passed, the sky’s the limit on how much could be charged for property tax assessments. This Amendment will make the 10% cap PERMANENT.
This is important to ALL Florida Manufactured Home Residents. So all Florida State Voters need to vote YES to protect the tax cap!
Thanks,
Dick and Mary Roller
Avoid a PAINFUL increase in the assessment on your leased lot!
Vote YES……. Ballot Number 2
Your leased lot is assessed and taxed as commercial property.
Assessments on commercial property have been restricted to 10% annually.
Property taxes are passed on pro-rata if that is permitted in your prospectus.
Amendment 2 must pass by 60% in November or the restriction ENDS!!!
Ballot Number 2…Vote YES
This is the actual language placed on your ballot November, 2018.
