The CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND of the PEACE RIVER CUP GOLF CHALLENGE is coming to Blue Heron Pines on Sunday, February 28th. TEAM BHP will be competing for the tournament championship against TEAM PARADISE, from Arcadia.

Twelve matches will T off, starting at 8:30 Sunday morning, to decide if the PEACE RIVER CUP TROPHY remains here, at our Pro Shop, or will it reside in Paradise in 2021.

We encourage all residents and friends of BHP to join in the tournament……
You are invited to join us on the course as we compete. Ride in your golf cart or walk along with other fans as the 12 HEAD-TO-HEAD matches wind their way through our beautiful course. There will be “HOUSE PARTIES” on both the front 9 and back 9, if you choose to relax and cheer on TEAM BHP, as they pass on by.

I’ve received a lot of emails, texts, house calls, etc about COVID-19 vaccinations. People are desperate, I get it, but like many things in life there is no shortcut for regular people. People have told me about other Sun Communities in other counties that have gotten vaccines for their people. Unfortunately, those other counties have many more vaccines to distribute. According to the Charlotte County Health Department, here in Charlotte County, we have 75,000 people on the waiting list but we have so far only received 5700 doses total.  Millenium Physician Group, with over 500 doctors and thousands of patients, have been trying desperately to get vaccines to administer since they first became available. They have written letters to Governor DeSantis (which have gone unanswered), and have requested vaccines from the state health board. Just today, after weeks of asking, they received 1000 doses and will be scheduling their patients themselves on a need basis. Based on all of this information, there is no way we at BHP will be able to have vaccines administered here in the near future. I have personally called Sun Community and Charlotte County Health department. Aside from the sheer lack of vaccines available, there is a rigid protocol for preserving vaccine efficacy. If anything changes I will let you all know immediately. Also, if anyone has any sway with the Governor, please call him because he’s not taking my calls. Lol.  Everybody please take a deep breath and keep trying to get on the list. Don’t forget: if you’re willing to drive you can pre-register at any other county that has more vaccines. Some of our residents have already done this and have received their shots. I am attaching links at the bottom where you can go to pre-register.

They will offer drinks and other menu items for sales as well.

You may bring your own drink or purchase a drink from the Pro Shop.

You must sign up and pick up a ticket for a hot dog or nachos.

Tickets available at mail kiosk on Thurs. Feb 4^th and Tues Feb 9^th 2-4pm.

No tickets will be given out after Tues. Feb. 9^th.
