Connecting to and Supporting BHP

The strength of any community is its ability to pull together and protect all its residents. The HOA and FMO (Federation of Manufactured Homeowners of Florida) help protect our community from excessive corporate interests, while improving the quality of life here at BHP through funding and organizing social events, fighting unjust rent increases, advocating for safety issues, as well as negotiating and defending residents when disputes arise.

This is a game of numbers, and the more residents at BHP that belong to the HOA the greater our leverage is when issues need to be resolved. Your support thru membership is so important!

To date we have less than 50% of residents as members, but most residents enjoy some benefit from the HOA. Your annual $20 membership fee goes a long way. Perhaps it is a social event you attended such as Dancing in the Streets, Horse Racing, numerous dances and dinners, or the Winter Wonderland & Golf Cart Parade. Perhaps it is community improvements that have been negotiated. Road drain repairs, forcing Sun to make all fire hydrants operable, weed maintenance of the ponds, pushing for improved golf course conditions, Gator Tales, BHP website and Facebook pages, Neighborhood Watch, Bingo, Dog Park, Pool League, and many more activities are wholly or in part supported by your HOA, yet sadly many folks that enjoy these activities are not HOA members. The $20.00 cost to support your HOA is much less than the potential cost if the HOA did not exist or becomes too weak to force issues to a resolution.

Attached below are four links that make it very easy to become a member and access all the communications and information we have to offer… Simply click each link, print or complete the form and follow the instructions to submit, and you will become a supporter of the community you live in and the lifestyle you have chosen. Blue Heron Pines Quilters Presentation

Thank you Liz Black and all the Blue Heron Pines quilters for creating two very special quilts.
Read their stories below….and Thank You for your service!

Ed Vidota

Ed Vidota served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He was stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and James Connally AFB in Waco, Texas. While in the Air Force, he was a Prime Beef Leader, in charge of equipment and Personnel. He supervised male and female soldiers of many ethnic groups and was in charge of ensuring that their assignments were completed in a timely manner. He set up school for On the Job Training of military and non military personnel. In 1969, Ed was in charge of 100 trainees, cleaning up the aftermath of Hurricane Camille in Biloxi, Mississippi.

After his service in the Air Force, Ed managed 11 jewelry stores before going into business himself.

Ed has been married to Sam for 54 years and has 3 children, and 6 grandchildren.

He enjoys dealing with good people and also people in need. Ed has been involved in both community and church activities and has received many awards and citations for his commitment to both these areas.

Being in the service, involves dedication and sacrifice and I’m very pleased to present Ed with a Patriotic quilt as a token of our appreciation for his service to our country.

Sandy Becker

Sandy Becker joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of Corporal. Sandy served for 13 months in Viet Nam. As a corporal, he was in charge of a battalion strength mess hall south of DaNang. He also served in a tank company attached to an infantry battalion.

Sandy was a recipient the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Viet Nam Service Medal, the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal.

He is married to Nancy and has six adult children, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Sandy is a retired civil engineer/ surveyor and in his retirement he enjoys woodworking as a hobby. And I know he likes to play golf as well.

I’m pleased to present Sandy with this patriotic quilt in thanksgiving for his commitment and the sacrifices he has made for our country’s freedom.
