Golf Cart Notice

Another golf cart was reported stolen from Fairway Drive, along with a charger from Philadelphia. In recent weeks there were another two thefts of golf carts…all from houses around the perimeter of the community. In the past, the few thefts reported were the work of juveniles in the immediate area, and the carts eventually turned up at the bottom of a pond. Such is not the case with our recent thefts, as there are reports of a theft ring operating in this area.

These golf carts don’t just vanish into thin air…. they must be driven from the place they are stolen to a waiting truck, probably with an enclosed trailer big enough haul away the “loot”. A rig this big isn’t invisible, so we all need to be alert and watchful for vehicles such as this that we cannot identify. Look for vehicles on the perimeter roads, or maybe in the Pro Shop parking lot that are not familiar. Even in the daytime, look for strangers driving thru the community looking for “opportunities”… especially on our perimeter streets such as Fairview, Philadelphia, Wendy Way, and a short section of Susquehanna.

Lastly, if you cannot park your cart inside your garage or shed, get some sort of alarm or a wheel chock.

You can view some of these security devises by clicking on the links below:

This thing has the advantage of being seen from the street, thus deterring the thief before he gets started.

In any event…. be watchful and use some sort of security. Don’t make it easy for the cartnappers !!!
